A flanged miniature bearing adds an integral locating shoulder to the outer ring. This can simplify axial positioning where the housing cannot use a conventional shoulder or separate retaining part.
Bearing outside diameter and flange outside diameter are different dimensions. Confirm the housing bore against the bearing OD, then check flange clearance, seating face, axial space and assembly direction separately.
Final selection should also include shaft and housing fits, speed, load, temperature, precision, clearance, closure and lubrication. Validate the chosen arrangement in the actual housing before production release.
